MARY MAGDELINE HITE Funeral services for Cortez resident, Mary Magdeline Hite will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 7 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Derrek D. Scott officiating. Interment services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Hayden Cemetery in Hayden, Colo. Rosary services and visitation will be held Wednesday evening at the Catholic Church beginning at 7 p.m. Mary was born on November 22, 1904 in Hayden, Colo. the daughter of George W. and Julia Annie (Wedell) Hite. She passed away on Monday, April 4, 2005 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home in Mancos. Mary was 100 years old. Before moving to Cortez, Mary served on the Hospital District Board in Oak Creek, Colo. She also served as president her local Senior Citizens organization and was a member of the Pioneers of America. She loved to travel. Surviving Mary are her three nieces, Virginia M. Coppinger of Dolores, Marjorie Coppinger of Cortez, and MaryLou Hines of Casper, Wyo.; and her nephew, William R. Hite of Henderson, Nev.
