Mary Kathern Fleetwood

MARY KATHERN FLEETWOOD Mary Kathern Fleetwood was born on May 13, 1916 in Kansas City, Mo. the daughter of Joe B. and Martha Ann (Petree) Campbell. She passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Vista Mesa Assisted Living Center at the age of 94. On May 4, 1940, Mary and John W. Fleetwood were wed in Santa Monica, Calif. Mary worked for many years in Kansas City at Hallmark Co. and for Montgomery Ward. She was a member of the Sr. Anglers of Escondido, Calif. Mary was a stay-at-home mom who was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed camping trips with her husband and family. Mary was a voracious reader and she devoted some of her time to young girls as a Brownie leader. Surviving Mary are her daughter, Joyce L. (Fleetwood) Lawrence of Dolores; her son-in-law, Roger J. Lawrence of Dolores; her grandson, Steven R. Lawrence of Dolores; her brother, Gene B. Campbell of Louisville, Ky.; and by six nieces and nephews and their families. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, John Fleetwood in June of 2002; and by her siblings, Ralph E. Campbell and Velma E. Campbell. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Vista Mesa Assisted Living Center, or to Hospice of Montezuma.
