Mary K. Nelson

MARY K. NELSON Mary K. Nelson was born on June 17, 1952 in Crescent City, Calif., the daughter of Vernon and Sarah “Sally” (Harmon) Burrell. She passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at her residence at the age of 54. On July 23, 1971, Mary married Robert Nelson in Glendale, Ariz. The celebrated 35 years together this past summer. Mary was a very giving person who was never known to be selfish. Mary was a talented artist that excelled in soap stone sculpturing. She lived life with a very open perspective, Mary was a true free-spirit. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and aunt. Surviving Mary are her loving husband, Bob Nelson of Mancos; her parents, Vernon Burrell and wife, Josephine of Oakdale, Calif., and Sarah “Sally” Burrell of Mancos; and her children, Wade Nelson and wife, Carrie of Chandler, Ariz., Wendy Johnson and husband, Jeremy of Mancos, and Will Nelson and his companion, Crystal Rector also of Mancos. She also leaves behind her sisters, Becky Staub and husband, John of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Maria Burrell of Oakdale, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Mallorie Nelson, Becca Tucker, Cody Johnson, and Amberly Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the American Cancer Society.
