MARY JANE HAMMOND Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Mary Jane Hammond will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14 at the Towaoc Recreation Center. Interment will follow at the Towaoc Cemetery. Mr. Davis Badback will officiate. A viewing has been scheduled for Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Mary was born on December 23, 1939 in Towaoc the daughter of Jack Hammond and Ora Posey. She passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 67. Mary was a devoted member of the Native American Church. She enjoyed Sun Dances and going to Pow Wows. As a young girl Mary liked riding horses. She was known to her friends and family as “Golden Nugget.” Mary loved to take trips. Surviving Mary are her children, Glynis Dan Wall and husband, Norman of Towaoc, Jana Dan Mills and husband, Windy Mills Jr. of Towaoc, Marcianne Wing and boyfriend, Isaac Dale of Towaoc, Howard Richards Jr. and wife, Zerhena of Ignacio, and Sharon Wing of Ignacio; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Gwendolyn Wing, and Yancey Wing; and her siblings, Aldo Hammond, Howard Hammond, Irene Hulligan, and Louise Hammond.
