MARY JACQULENE “JACKIE” BACK Funeral services for Cortez resident Mary Jacqulene “Jackie” Back will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 28 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Reverend Bud Rousset will officiate. Jackie was born October 17, 1932 in Mt. Vernon, Mo. the daughter of Walter Edward and Loma Inez (Berry) Owens. She passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 77. On April 1, 1984, Jackie married Clyde Back in Las Vegas, Nev. Jackie loved to crochet and was awarded a blue ribbon at the Montezuma County Fair. Surviving Jackie are her children, Johnny White and wife, Rosemary of Yahtahey, N.M., and Lori Crisp of Cortez; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Karen Olsen and husband, Jim of Cortez, and Ancel Owens of Mt. Vernon, Mo. Jackie will be missed by her two chihuahuas, Pete and Squeaky. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Clyde Back; and by her siblings, Merle Root and Gary Owens.
