MARY ELIZABETH "BETTY" PERCELL Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Percell passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Durango on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. She was 71 years old. Betty was born the daughter of Marion Lester and Mary Lucile (Crawford) Coleman on April 24, 1941, in Los Angeles, Calif. Betty spent 15 years working in the Montezuma County Treasurer's Office, building treasured relationships with her co-workers and the public. When Betty wasn't working she enjoyed collecting antiques and frequently taking long rides. Surviving Betty are her children, Debbie Granger of Mancos, Pam Wilson and husband Harold of Dolores, and Jim H. Dykes of Bayfield, Colo.; her grandchildren, Brandon Hill, Jason Hill, Eric Wilson, Marissa Hurst and husband Cody, Tyler Dykes and Colton Dykes; one great-grandson, Remington Adams; and her sister, Barbara Linkler and husband Bill of West Covina, Calif. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and by her son, Anthony Granger. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Mary Elizabeth Percell's name with the American Diabetes Association.
