MARY “DAISY” BLANDA JAHNKE Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident, Mary “Daisy” Blanche Jahnke will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2005 at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Daisy was born on February 2, 1924 in Denver, Colo. the daughter of George and Blanche (Davis) Patrick. She passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home. She was 81 years old. On November 5, 1944 Daisy married Orval Louis Jahnke. She spent her working career as the business manager for Rico Argentine Mining and the Rico Phone Company. Surviving Daisy are her children, Mary Lou Hudson and husband, Steve, Kenneth Jahnke all of Durango, and Laurie Arnett and husband, Ray of Cortez. She leaves two grand children, one great-grandchild; and her siblings, Robert Patrick, Kathy Cox and husband, Don all of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Louise Schmidt of Denver. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Orval Louis Jahnke. Memorial contributions can be made in Daisy’s memory to the Arthritis Foundation.
