MARY AGNES STEPHENSON Funeral services for longtime Dolores resident, Mary Agnes Stephenson will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Monday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Mary was born in Dolores, Colo. on May 22, 1933 the daughter of Lester and Agnes (Lupke) King. She passed away in Grand Junction, Colo. on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the age of 74. Except for college at Fort Lewis and Adams State, Mary spent most of her years in Dolores. She married Ray E. Stephenson in 1956 and their loving union of 34 years produced three children. Ray and Mary were both teachers in the Dolores School District and later she went on to teach in Red Mesa and Cortez. Ray preceded her in death in 1990. After Ray’s passing, she moved to Grand Junction to spoil her grandchildren, Kate, Jessica, Jacob, & Hannah. Mary loved the Lord and her well worn Bible stuffed with clippings bears testament to a life well spent loving and being loved by others. Mary leaves her legacy in her children; Ray Lester and his wife, Lori of Grand Junction, Lisa Marie and her husband, Darrell also of Grand Junction, and Eric Eugene of Denver. Mary was a kind and humble woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
