MARY A. McCABE Memorial services for Mary Agnes McCabe will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22 at the Cortez First United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Mary was born on October 19, 1928 in Cortez the oldest child of William George and Orpha Agnes (Adams) Partridge. She passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 85. On June 28, 1959 Mary married Lowell Henry McCabe with whom she shared 39 wonderful years. Mary held various bookkeeping positions during her working career, including working for Verl Hamilton of Hamilton Trucking, Bill Bridgewater of Cortez Diesel and also Kelly R. McCabe, P.C. Mary was a dedicated Auxiliary Volunteer of Southwest Memorial Hospital for 15 years. Mary began volunteering in 1999. She worked in the Gift Shop and in the early years helped with the Juice Cart that was provided to the patients in the lobby. Mary served as Secretary of the Auxiliary Board in 2000-2001, President in 2003-2004, and Treasurer in 2006-2007 and 2012-2014. Through Mary's hard work, dedication and self-giving she contributed 13, 991 volunteer hours at the hospital. The hospital and the community were blessed to have such a wonderful and valuable volunteer. She will be greatly missed. Mary enjoyed bowling especially teaming in League play with her mother, Orpha Koppenhafer, who bowled into her 90's. One of her greatest joys was playing bingo and she had her custom made bingo bag with pockets for her markers always at the ready. Her greatest passion and pleasure came from her love of family and her many friends. Surviving Mary are her sister-in-law, Gloria Partridge; her nieces and nephews, Gia Sandwich and husband, Wayne of Americus, Ga., Allen Partridge and wife, Andrea of Germany, Glenn Partridge and wife, Cathy of Americus, Ga., Kelly R. McCabe and wife, Sara, Kimberly Franchini and husband, Steve, Rollin Wilber and wife, Cindy all of Cortez; and numerous great nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; her parents, William George Partridge and Orpha Agnes Partridge Koppenhafer; her sister, Willella Wilber; her brother, George A. Partridge; and her brother-in-law, Kermit Wilber. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Southwest Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, C/O Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N.
