MARVIN WILLIS "JOE" BRUNNER SR. Funeral services for longtime area resident Marvin Willis "Joe" Brunner Sr. will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 19 at the Arriola Bible Church. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Pastor Kent Slyter will officiate. Visitation has been scheduled for Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Joe was born August 31, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Elton Henry and Opal Irene (Lakin) Brunner. He passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. Surviving Joe are his loving wife, Cindy Brunner of Dolores; his children, Malinda Hicks (Joe) of Fruita, Colo., Joe Brunner Jr. (Melissa) of Dolores, and Meloney Deutschendorf (Jeff) of Park City, Utah; his grandchildren, Taylor Smith (Rochele), Savannah Keith (Michael), Jordan Hicks, McKenzie Messerly (Collin), Brett Brunner, Cortney Brunner and Justin Brunner; and by his great-grandchildren, Brayden Smith and Camden Keith. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and by his step-brother, Eugene Hainline. One of Poppy's greatest loves over the years not only was his love for God and Arriola Bible church and watching the impact that teachers and the ministry had on the youth.
