Martin Yazzie

Funeral services for Cortez resident Martin Yazzie will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2022 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Travis Greenlee will officiate. Interment will follow at the Suckla Family Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the end of the service.
Martin was born August 22, 1954 in Farmington, NM the son of Frank and Ruth (Johnson) Yazzie. He passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO at the age of 67.
Surviving Martin are his father, Frank Yazzie of Cortez, CO; his son, Keith Yazzie (Megan) of Gilmer, TX; his daughter, Kasey Suckla (Jake) of Disappointment Valley, CO; his siblings, Esther Yazzie of Cortez, CO, Susie Muller (Sid) of Belen, NM, Mary Pilsk (Seth) of Globe, AZ, Charlotte Corrales of Farmington, NM; and four grandchildren, Kalee Suckla, Karlee Williams, Bergan Yazzie, and Scout Yazzie. Martin was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Yazzie; and his sister, Colleen Pacheco.
