MARTHA LOUISE "SALLIE" WEAVER Memorial services for longtime Mancos resident Martha Louise "Sallie" Weaver will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 25 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Father Bob Seney will officiate. Sallie was born the daughter of Joseph and Grace Ann (Cooper) VanderBush on October 11, 1926 in Auburndale, Fla. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the age of 83. Sallie graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Denver, Colo. in 1948. July 24, 1949 Sallie married Haralson Sinclair Weaver in Mancos. They shared 39 years of married before his death in 1988. Sallie was an active member of her community holding memberships in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mancos; National Society Daughters of the American Revolution; Mesa Verde Chapter #76 Order of Eastern Star; and Mancos Senior Citizens Center. Sallie served four terms equaling 20 years of service as an officer and member of Montezuma County Hospital Board and in 2008 she was honored as Mancos Days Queen. Surviving Sallie are her children, Richard Haralson Weaver and wife, Sheila, of Easton, Conn., Thomas Joseph Weaver and wife, Sandy, of Mancos, and Kenneth Carleton Weaver and wife, Emily, of Bellingham, Wash.; by one grandchild, Thea J. Weaver of Kansas City, Mo.; by her siblings, Charles VanderBush and wife, Sherrill, of Irvine, Calif., and Marilyn Coffee of Kenbridge, Va.; and by her brother-in-law, W.F. "Biff" Harral of Lamar, Colo. Preceding Sallie in death were her parents; husband, Haralson Weaver; her sister, JoAnne Harral; and brother-in-law, Bill Coffee. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Martha L. "Sallie" Weaver to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O. Box 740, Cortez or to the Mancos Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 145 Mancos.
