MARJORY COPPINGER CALHOON SMITH Funeral services for former area resident, Marjory Coppinger Calhoon Smith will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26 at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. The Reverend Erika Meyer will officiate. Marjory was born on December 6, 1918 in Cortez the daughter of Elwin J. and Elva K. (Coppinger) Calhoon. She passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at the age of 86 in Marin County, Calif. Marjory, along with her husband George Smith Jr., owned and operated George Smith Hauling. After George’s death Marjory moved to California where she resided for the last twenty years. Surviving Marjory are her daughter, Judith Sue Smith of Sausalito, Calif.; her grandson, Michael George Smith of Berkley, Calif.; her sisters, Kathryn Story of Cortez, Norma Malernee of Calgary, Canada, and Ona Lee Olson of Cortez; her brothers, Elwin Calhoon, Jr. of Boise, Ida., and Jack Calhoon of Deltona, Fla. She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Dean Smith, and her husband, George W. Smith Jr.
