MARJORIE V. STEPHENS Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Marjorie V. Stephens will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 20 at Montezuma Valley Presbyterian Church. Marjorie was born March 7, 1917 in Caldwell, Idaho the daughter of John E. and Alberta Lou (Beckwith) Riddle. She passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Vista Grande Inn Nursing Home at the age of 99. On July 25, 1937, Marjorie married Warren William Stephens in Caldwell, Idaho. Marjorie had a beautiful voice and was part of the Sweet Adeline's. She loved her church family dearly and was a longtime member of the Montezuma Valley Presbyterian Church. Marjorie liked to dance, grow flowers and make quilts. Surviving Marjorie are her children, Warren R. Stephens (Beverly) of Willis, Tex., Barbara Gettis of Gilroy, Calif., and Margaret Bolton of Michigan City, Ind.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and by her wonderful church family. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband; and by one sister and two brothers.
