MARJORIE LEAH OLSON REYNOLDS Funeral services for former Cortez resident, Marjorie Leah Olson Reynolds will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 17 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Pastor Ron Horne of the First Baptist Church will be officiating. Marjorie was born on April 14, 1927 in Rico the daughter of Ray Lester and Nellie M. (Wilderson) Ward. She passed away on Monday, April 12, 2004 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home in Lafayette, La. Margie was 76 years old. Margie was a loving mother who enjoyed being involved with her family. She helped her daughters with 4-H when they were young, and truly enjoyed being a homemaker. She also worked as a real estate agent for many years. Margie loved people, and loved helping them. A sweet hearted, and sweet natured woman she was always happy, joking and teasing. If you were ever down, Margie could bring you back up. Traveling was a passion of Margie's. Her two daughters, Kathryn Olson and Beverly Lee and husband, T.C. of Youngsville, La.; her granddaughter, Karla Shipley of Tennessee.; her great-granddaughter, Megan Shipley; as well as her siblings, Ray Ward and wife, Guyrene of Dolores, Doris Coppenhafer and husband, Dean, Sally Rash and husband Kay, and Margaret Hoover all of Cortez survive Margie. Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Clifford Gordon Olson; and her second husband, Ralph 'Dodd' Reynolds. Memorial contributions can be made in Marjorie's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
