Marjorie Bauchop Karn

MARJORIE BAUCHOP KARN Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident, Marjorie Bauchop Karn will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Reverend Erika Meyer will officiate. Marge was born in Ontario, Winnipeg, Canada on May 27, 1922 the daughter of James Staton and Alice (Shepherd) Bauchop. She passed away at her home in Cortez on Friday, June 15, 2007 at the age of 85. On January 25, 1942 in Long Beach, Calif. Marge married Hubert Karn sharing 64 years of marriage before Herb’s death in 2006. A devoted wife and dedicated homemaker, Marge loved being closed to her children and grandchildren, reading and latchhooking. She was a member of the Daughters of The Nile. Surviving Marge are her three sons, Buster Karn and wife, Deborah of Durango, Greg Karn of Cortez, and Richard Karn and wife, Rhonda of Hot Springs, Ark.; her son-in-law, Robert Groenwald of Newport News, Virg.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herb Karn; and her daughter, Pamela Groenwald. Memorial contributions may be made in Marge’s memory to the St. Barnabas Columbarium Fund.
