MARIE MYRTLE WINTERS Memorial services for lifelong area resident Marie Myrtle Winters will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 26 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Marie was born April 27, 1924 in Lewis, Colo. the daughter of John and Ann (Elliott) Tibbets. She passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 91. On February 2, 1952, Marie married Dewey Winters in Gallup, N.M. Marie belonged to the Lakeview Grange. She worked in numerous restaurants in the area during the 50's and 60's. Raising and loving her family brought Marie much joy and happiness. In her free time, Marie enjoyed sewing. Surviving Marie are her husband of 63 years, Dewey Winters; her children, LeRoy Winters (Dora) of Farmington, N.M., Danny Winters of Farmington, N.M., Leon Winters and family and Lynn Hilton and family; and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; and by her siblings, Arthur, Henry, Roy, Mary, and Delfie. Memorial contributions may be made to Dolores State Bank in Marie Winters' name.
