MARIE EDITH BECHER CARLSON Memorial services for Marie Edith Becher Carlson, 91 of Dolores, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 10 at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church in Dolores. Marie was born May 2, 1916 in Rico, Colo. the daughter of John R. and Emma (Koehn) Becher. She passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at her home in Dolores. A longtime member of the Dolores community, Marie held memberships in Eastern Star, Daughter of The Nile, and the Lakeview Grange. She was also a member of the Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church and Ruth Guild. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing Bridge and fishing. Surviving Marie are her two daughters, Sylvia McClellan and husband, Norman of Cortez and Judy Davis and husband, Doug of Dolores; eight grandchildren, Ginger Black and husband, Kirk Swope of Dolores, Casey McClellan and wife, Yvonne of Cortez, Kelly McClellan and wife, Di of Farmington, N.M., Tasha Tranbarger and husband, Marty of Shawnee, Kans., Terri Westerman and husband, Joe of Aurora, Colo. Tanya Zukel and husband, Ed of Shawnee, Kans., Curtis Young of Ozark, Mo., and Kara Suckla and husband, Judd of Cortez; and 14 great grandchildren, Tristen Black, Kelly, C.J. and Carlie McClellan, Seth McClellan, Nicholas and Alexis Tranbarger, Charelle Bonds, Cory and Tyler Westerman, Brooke and Taylor Zukel, Chase and Tanner Suckla. Her sisters, Beulah Vanderpool and Marjorie Welch both of Dolores, and Juanita Fredriksen of Mancos; her brother, Elvin Becher and wife, Ramona of Dolores; sisters-in-law, Ruth Becher of Dolores and Elizabeth Becher of Cortez; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive Marie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis G. Carlson; and siblings, Robert Becher, Rupert Becher, Lucille Howard, Ruth Omo, Jim Becher, Richard Becher, and Thomas Becher.
