Margaret Carolina Williford

Graveside services for Cortez resident Margaret Carolina Williford will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2021 at Cortez Cemetery.
Margaret was born on August 5, 1940 at home as the seventh and last child to Floyd Wayne and Clara Ann (Retherford) Bryan. She peacefully passed away at home on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the age of 81.
Margaret spent her childhood in the Lakeview area of Dolores Colorado and at Summit Point Utah. She graduated from the Cortez High School in May, 1958 and married her lifetime sweetheart Wayne a month later. They spent 56 wonderful years together before his passing in 2014. They traveled and moved many times throughout their marriage until settling back in the Cortez area in 1975.
Margaret was an excellent seamstress which naturally led to her career of managing several sewing factories. She was an avid reader, famous for knitting slippers, and her “ornery” sense of humor. She planted large gardens and enjoyed growing beautiful flowers. Most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Wayne J. Williford; and her siblings, Clio Nebeker, Robert Bryan, Victor Bryan, Harvey Bryan, and Walter Bryan. Surviving Margaret are her children, Ann Hover (Conrad) of Dolores, CO, Wayne D. Williford (Lisa LeVasseur) of Dolores, CO, Valley Jean Williford (Darwin McCulloch) of Cortez, CO, and Velma Williford of Novato, CA; her sister, Georgia Branson of MO; five grandchildren, Cody, Aspen, Fanny, Ryan, Whitney; and five great grandchildren, Ciana, Cheriann, Ayden, Grayson, Xander.
