Marcia (Marci) returned to her heavenly Father on October 29, 2014 in Cortez, Colo. She was born on April 21, 1964 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clyde and Patricia Christensen. Marci grew up in Monticello and graduated from Monticello High school. She participated in student government, cheerleading and volleyball. She was a beautiful spirit always putting others before herself, helping those in need and just being kind and loving to everyone. She was a CNA and loved going to nursing homes and assisted living homes to say hello and do what she could to help others. She was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed family outings, Lake Powell, rock climbing at Easter Jeep Safari, deer season and motorcycle riding. She loved to laugh and enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed and always have a special place in our hearts. After high school she moved to Moab, Utah, married Scott Johnston and had two sons. She and Scott divorced but remained good friends the rest of her life. She lived in Northern Utah and Georgia for a short time. In 2001 she found her soul mate, Tom Chase, a friend since seventh grade. They made their home in Cortez, Colo. raising Zach their youngest son, until her passing. Surviving Marci are her husband, Tom; sons, Traykon and wife Ashely, Terril and wife, Jen and Zach; stepchildren, Sierra and Zach Navales, Corbin and wife, Ariel; seven grandchildren; her mother, Pat; brothers, Scott and wife, Patty, and Robert; mother-in-law, Judy Chase; and nieces and nephews. Marci is preceded in death by her father, Clyde; and father-in-law, Tom Chase, Sr. The family would like to express their love and appreciation for all acts of kindness and support to those who provided food, sent cards and flowers; and for the care and kindness of the Doctors and Nurses and Southwest Memorial Hospital. Services were held in Monticello on November 3, 2014. Interment was at the Monticello Cemetery.
