MANUEL OBISPO-BELLO Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Manuel Obispo-Bello will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12 at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be held at the Cemetery Municipal in Apipilulco, Guerrero, Mexico. A prayer vigil has been scheduled at 7 p.m. Monday night at the Catholic Church. Manuel was born on June 5, 1923 in Apipilulco, Mexico the son of Rafael and Agustina (Bello) Obispo. He passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. Manuel was a cowboy who liked to work and tell stories. He also enjoyed listening to music and watching television. Games and sports on T.V. were his favorite. Surviving Manuel are his wife, Carmen (Roman) Obispo of Cortez; his children, Francisca Jimenez and husband, Jose of Cortez, Gloria Obispo of Mexico, Roberto Obispo-Roman and wife, Blanca E. Valdivia de Obispo of Cortez, Griselda Obispo- Flores and husband, Jorge, Carmen Obispo-Cabrera and husband, Jose Luis all of Mexico, Orlando Obispo of Cortez, Guadalupe Obispo, and Manuel Obispo and wife, Rozio all of Mexico. He leaves eight grandchildren; and his brothers, Emilio Obispo, Felepe Obispo, Cresencio Obispo, and Reyes Obispo. Preceding him in death were his parents.
