MANUEL DALOMBA NEVES II Memorial services for Manuel DaLomba Neves II "Manny" will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28 at Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Manuel DaLomba Neves II was born on April 25, 1937 in Peace Dale, R.I. the son of Samuel Rodman and Bertha Elizabeth (Rhodes) Neves. He passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at his Cortez residence at the age of 73. On April 29, 1961, Manny married Deanna Marie LeClair in San Francisco, Calif. Manny served his country with the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He was a proud member of the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Manny was a family man at heart, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. An avid sports fan, Manny was awarded a Letter for cheerleading from Montezuma Cortez High School in 1989. To date, Manny is the only parent to ever receive this prestigious award. Manny was an encouraging, positive man; he had kind words and a warm smile for everyone he met. In his free time, Manny enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving Manny are his wife of 49 years, Deanna "Dee" Neves of Cortez; and his children, Alexcia "Lexi" Hill and husband, Tony of Cortez, Keith Neves and wife, Chana of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Canonchet "Notch" Neves and wife, Vanessa of Albuquerque, N.M., and Manuel "Manny" Neves III and wife, Deanna L. of Cortez. Manny also leaves behind 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Samuel R. Neves of Spokane, Wash., Ronald N. Lickers of San Francisco, Calif., and Pamela E. Evanson of Spokane, Wash. Manny was preceded in death by his parents.
