Mabel Elizabeth Thomas

MABEL ELIZABETH THOMAS Mabel Elizabeth Thomas, 84, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez. She was born the daughter of James Wiley and Erma Alice (Cochran) Sheek in Mancos on September 24, 1930. On February 14, 1953, Mabel married James Henry Thomas. For many years Mabel performed clerical duties for Occidental Chemical, First Second Bank, and Montezuma County Clerk's Office. She busied her hands with beading and crocheting. Surviving Mabel are children, Tom Thomas and wife, Sharlott, of Mancos, Tina Thomas of Berthoud, Colo., Teri Noll and husband, Bob of Longmont, Colo. and Jim Thomas and wife, Shelly, of Spanish Fork, Utah; and by 16 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mabel is also survived by her sister, Alice Davis of Brush, Colo.; and her brother, John Sheek of Phoenix, Ariz. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas; her parents, James and Erma; and two brothers, Albert and Wesley Sheek. Cremation will take place with no services planned.
