LUCILLE JOYCE REED Funeral services for lifelong area resident Lucille "Joyce" Reed will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Rodney Case will officiate. Joyce was born on January 21, 1931 in Cortez to Norris K. and Mable (Partridge) Roubidoux. She passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango at the age of 80. Joyce graduated from high school in 1948 in Cortez. She worked for the Pleasant View School District for many years as a bus driver. Joyce was a member of the Yellow Jacket Ladies Club and the Yellow Jacket Grange. In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed camping, reading and playing cards. She also loved to watch the Rockies. Joyce lived for her children and grandchildren, it always brightened her day to see them. Surviving Joyce are her children, Spark Reed and wife, Alesa of Dolores, Don Reed and wife, Sandy of Montrose, Colo. and Dixie Lee and husband, Dick of Yellow Jacket; her sister, Joy Kendall of Gallup, N.M.; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Ellen Oliver; and her siblings, Norris Roubidoux Jr., and Mickey Roubidoux.
