LUCAS SILAS Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Lucas Silas will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28 at the Towaoc Recreation Center. Interment will follow at the Towaoc Cemetery. Lucas was born on September 24, 1967 in Cortez, the son of Herbert Silas Sr. and Florence Cuthair Bancroft Silas. He passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2007 in Cortez at the age of 39. Lucas loved to fix cars and go “mud bogging”. He liked to help people in any way he could. In his spare time he enjoyed drawing and spending time at the casino. Surviving Lucas are his father, Herbert Silas Sr. of Towaoc; his significant other, Roseann Mills of Towaoc; and his siblings, Marijane Hight Kay and husband, Conway, Mary Silas and husband, Darrell Ketchum, Herbert Silas Jr. and wife, Lucinda, Basil Silas Sr. and wife, Ella, all of Towaoc, Judy Faye Silas of Phoenix, Ariz., Andrea Silas and husband, Clifford Taylor, Cynthia Silas and son, Stanley Frost, Edwina Silas and husband, Melvin Hatch, Alexander “Joe” Silas and wife, Carol, and Valerie Silas all of Towaoc. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Robin Frost, Hayden Post, Lori Frost, Carl, Harold, and Juanita Cuthair, all of Towaoc, and his aunts and uncles, Pearl Laner and husband, Alfred Wall Sr., Freddie Bancroft and wife, Erna, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Knight, Emma Cuthair, and Ira Cuthair, all of Towaoc; and many more cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Lucas was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Silas in July 2006.
