LOVINA LOUISE HANSON Memorial services for Cortez resident, Lovina Louise Hanson will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, December 8 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Lovina was born September 22, 1925 in Nucla, Colo. the daughter of Lanham W. and Martha (Carver) Ballard. She passed away at Vista Grande Inn on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the age of 83. On April 17, 1949 Lovina married Glen Kirk "Speck" Hanson in Cortez. Lovina was a member of the '40s Bunch, Toastmistress, and the Cortez First United Methodist Church. In her quiet time she enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing and jigsaw puzzles. Surviving Lovina are her daughter, Terry L. McComb and husband, Tim of Cortez; two sons, Norman Eric Hanson and wife, Arleen of Mancos and Kirk Hanson and wife, Linda of Ft. Bragg, Calif.; by three grandchildren, Tony L. McComb, Katrina Hanson and Evan Hanson; by six great grandchildren, Jack, Daneen, Joe, Jay, Jon and Molly Tompkinson; and her brother, Buck Ballard and his friend, Carol of Cortez. Preceding Lovina in death were her parents; her husband.
