Funeral services for longtime Mancos Creek resident Louise Talk Begay will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Ertel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Towaoc Cemetery. Manuel Heart will be officiating. A visitation will take place Tuesday, October 12, 2021 following the service at the Ertel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Begay was born March 3, 1940 the daughter of Allen Talk Jr. and Sarah Yazzie. She died Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Durango Mercy Medical Center, at the age of 81.
She is survived by her children: Irma Begay, Bonnie Begay of Towaoc, Lorraine Begay (Eric), Edward Begay, Tina Begay of Mancos Creek, Andy Begay Sr. (Trina), Leonard Begay (Jennifer) of Cortez; her daughter-in-law: Valentina Whyte-Begay; one-adopted daughter, Dolly Talk Jim (Ramon) of Shiprock, NM; 30 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Glen Talk Sr (Sandra) of Mancos Creek; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Begay Sr; her parents; her brother, Raymond Talk, Sr; her sister, Ruby Tallbird; and her son, George Begay, Jr.
The family strongly recommends wearing a mask to the service.
