LouAnn Springmeyer

 The graceful and beloved LouAnn Springmeyer (Reynolds) passed away peacefully, on November 5th, 2024, Surrounded by family members. She leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, love, kindness, and creativity. 

 LouAnn was born on November 28th, 1934, to Ivy Reynolds (Adams) and Virgil “Speck” Reynolds. Her sisters Joann, Mary Ellen and Melva were her best friends and guiding lights. LouAnn’s family moved to Anchorage, Alaska where she fell in love with the rainforest. In 1951, the family moved to Mancos, Colorado and then Cortez Colorado. It was in Cortez where she met the love of her life, Alvin Springmeyer. She married her high school sweetheart, the late Alvin Darrel Springmeyer, December 6th, 1953. They remained married for 67 years. Together they welcomed and raised 5 beautiful children: Richard, Ronda, Brenda, Patricia, and Cara. In time, their family welcomed grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. 

 LouAnn was a loving mother and grandmother while she balanced being a trailblazer for all women. LouAnn worked as a court clerk as the Montezuma County Clerk for many years. She worked diligently with Judge Armstrong, Judge Sharon Hanson, and Judge James Aiken to ensure justice for the victimized. After several years, LouAnn retired and spent the following years traveling the West with Alvin, enjoying the company of her sisters, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and treasured cat companions. She loved reading, birding, gardening, cooking, quilting, and hanging out with her best friend Tiny, in her free time.

 She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Ivy, her sisters; Jo, Melva and Mary, her husband Alvin and her two children Richard and Brenda. She is survived by her daughters Ronda, Patricia, and Cara. Her grandchildren; Amber, Erin, Cicely, Cortney, Brianna, Matthew, Cassandra and Baley. She also is survived by 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. All whom she loved dearly. 

 LouAnn will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A service will be held in her honor on December 2, 2024, 1:00 pm, at Ertel Funerial Home in Cortez CO.
