LORRAINE ALICE (PRIDDY) BARRY Lorraine Alice (Priddy) Barry, loving wife and mother, passed peacefully from this world November 9, 2005. She came to live in this area with her Dad, Joe Priddy and two brothers, Bobby and Jimmy from California – full of wonder and seeking new adventures in the Ucolo community. Lorraine attended school in Monticello, Utah where she met and married George Barry on February 9, 1952. They lived the first two years of their marriage in a “honeymoon” cabin that George built on Horsehead Point. In 1955 they moved to the Eastland community after buying four acres and a vacant teachers’ house that they relocated. They then began adding onto the house and to the household. Of all the wonders and changes which came into her life, the greatest was the gospel of peace. In February of 1972, she was drawn into this fellowship of life. Starting as a newborn babe she began to walk in newness of life, each step guided by the heavenly Father; not where the flesh delighted to go, and not an easy path, but always leading to righteousness and grace and truth. We are all witnesses today of that final step. Death has been swallowed up by victory. As the writer Paul said “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. There is laid up for me therefore a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing.” She lived the last 6 years of her life at the Four Corners Health Care Center, Durango, Colo. Lorraine is survived by her husband, George of Monticello, Utah; four children, Sue Fisher (Mike) of Denver, Colo., Steve Barry (Dana) of Hutchinson, Minn., Kathy Simpson (Craig) of Blanding, Utah, and Ed Barry (Teresa) of Monticello, Utah; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Langston of Riverside, Calif.; and a brother, Roger Priddy of Brighton, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. A small service will be held at the Eastland LDS Church, Friday, November 11, 2005 at 2 p.m., with burial following at the Eastland Cemetery.
