LORNA LU WILLIAMS A Celebration of Life will be held in memory of lifelong Lorna Lu Williams at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 26 at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Cahone. Lorna was born on April 14, 1934 in Cahone the daughter of Milton and Gertrude Lemoyne (Howard) Hughes. She passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 70. Lorna was a member of the Civitans as well as the Dolores County Search and Rescue. During her working years Lorna was a cashier for the Dove Creek Superette Grocery Store. Some of her favorite pastimes were toll painting and beadwork. She was an avid 'rock-hound' who enjoyed collecting rocks. Surviving Lorna are her three daughters, Lemoyne Bradfield and husband, Charles of Mesa, Ariz., Cherrie Garchar and husband, Dwayne of Dove Creek, and Connie Cannon and husband, Dennis of Rico. She leaves 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings, Edna Myrle Spillar of San Antonio, Tex., June Posey and husband, Jim of Dove Creek, Ann Weese of Dove Creek, Sue Johnson and husband, John of Albuquerque, N.M., Jimmy Hughes and wife, Janet of Clyde, N.Y., and Howard Hughes and wife, Rose of Arriola. Her husband, Henry Thomas Williams, and her parents preceded Lorna in death. Memorial contributions can be made in Lorna's memory to either the Dolores County Search and Rescue or to the Dove Creek Ambulance Fund.
