LORETTA ANITA SENA Memorial Mass services for lifelong Cortez resident, Loretta Anita Sena were held at 12 p.m. on Monday, September 1 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Reverend Pat Valdez, C.R. officiated. A rosary was held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Anita was born on June 19, 1948 in Cortez, to Mary and Ernesto Sena. Anita was a loving Mother, sister and friend. She married Adolpho Valdez in 1965 and the couple had six children together. Loretta Anita Sena, age 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 29, 2014 in Cortez. Anita is survived by her brother, Robert Sena and wife, Erma of Grand Forks, N.D.; sister, Terry Sena of Mancos; daughter, Lauri Sanchez and husband, Elias of Casa Grande, Ariz.; son, Steven Valdez of Montgomery, Ala.; son, Michael Valdez of Mancos; son, Anthony Valdez and wife, Nikki; son, Joel Valdez and wife, Jennifer of Montgomery, Ala.; and daughter, Lucia Bueno-Valdez and husband, Lazaro of Cortez. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Ernesto Sena. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and raising her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her as a kind loving companionate person. The family would like to thank our entire family and friends who helped us enjoy the last days of her life and especially Montezuma Hospice for their wonderful service.
