Loren Robert Codding

Memorial services for longtime Dolores resident, Loren Robert Codding, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church in Dolores. Pastor Cherie Cobb will officiate. Loren was born on July 25, 1926 in Medina, Ohio the son of John Arvillo and Iva Maude (Baysinger) Codding. Loren passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the age of 89. Loren married Opal Deane Ferrell on August 22, 1947 in Medina, Ohio. He served his country in the Army Airborne. He was employed as a communications engineer and was a member of the N.R.A. In his spare time Loren enjoyed bird watching, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and motorcycle riding. Loren survived by his wife, Opal Codding of Dolores, Colo.; his children, Craig (Esta) Codding of Medina, Ohio, Joel Codding of Jacksonville, Fla., John Codding (Trudy) of Iona, Mich., Scott Codding of Mancos, Colo., Spencer Codding (Angela) of Phoenix, Ariz. and Sandra Ross (Doyle) of Ohio; and his eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Loren was preceded in death by his parents; and by his siblings, Keith Codding and Earl Codding. Memorial contributions may be made in Loren Codding's name to Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church.
