Loraine Wanda Shippy

Graveside services for longtime resident, Loraine Wanda Shippy, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Arriola Cemetery. Pastor Doug Carver will preside.

Loraine was born on July 21, 1932 in Grants Pass, Ore. the daughter of Pliny and Opal Eels Jerome. Loraine passed away at her residence on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the age of 83.

Loraine married Elbert Abraham Shippy on September 15, 1951 in Reno, Nev. The couple shared 61 years of marriage.

Loraine is survived by her children, Trenton Shippy and Logan Shippy both of Grants Pass, Ore., Carlee Shippy, Maurena Sturdevant, Madeline Langue (Eric), Chadwick Shippy, Nevan Shippy, Lisa Shippy, Julie Shippy, Feleena Stafford (Sean) and Travis Shippy all of Cortez, Colo. and Lavena Taylor (Brett) of Utah; her siblings, Betty Pratt, Alvin Jerome, Verlin Jerome, Danny Jerome, Arthur Jerome, Philip Jerome, Alice Hickman, Dallas Jerome, and Kathy Eels; and her 18 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, Pliny and Opal Jerome; her husband, Elbert Shippy; and her children: Wayde Shippy and Colan Shippy.
