Lora Joann Sanchez

Funeral service for Lora Joann Sanchez, a longtime resident of Cortez, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3 at Evangel Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Pastor Jeff McDonell will officiate. Viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday evening at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Lora Joann Sanchez was born April 18, 1961 in Cortez, Colo. the daughter of John Lucero and Lydia Williams. Lora was later adopted by Marion Granvel and Nora Lois Click Wooten. Lora liked helping people with home health and Hospice. In her spare time she enjoyed plants, gardening, crocheting, decorating, reading, cooking, going for walks and visiting the library. Lora is survived by her biological mother, Lydia Williams of Denver, Colo.; her sons, Isaac Sanchez (Athena) and Rico Sanchez all of Cortez; her siblings, T. J. Wooten of Phoenix, Ariz., Daryla Quintana of Tucson, Ariz., Olivia Covarrubias, John Lucero, Jr. and Clifford Lucero all of Denver, Colo. Cathy Hawkins of Pueblo, Colo., and Billy Joe Hawkins of Canon City, Colo.; her grandchildren, Motega Sanchez, Makoda Sanchez and Maurice Nat; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lora was preceded in death by her biological father, adoptive father and mother; her son, Danny Dean Sanchez; and a sister, Neoma Lucero.
