Lois Mae Humiston

LOIS MAE HUMISTON Funeral services for longtime Mancos resident Lois Mae Humiston will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 at the Mancos Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mancos Baptist Church. Lois was born on May 30, 1915 in La Veta, Colo. the daughter of Worth Allmon and Emma Adaline (Parks) Baker. She passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 94. Surviving Lois are her sons, Glen Humiston and wife, Rose of Mancos, and Wayne Humiston and wife, Phyllis of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Lolly Humiston of Parker, Colo.; grandchildren, Glenda Lee Humiston of Novato, Calif., Beverly Ann Humiston of Mancos, Joyce Marie Humiston of Mancos, Paula Rae Mitchell and husband, Jim of Globe, Ariz., Ronda Gail Weir and husband, Ray of Lewis, Tim Humiston and wife, Lisa of Golden, Colo., Vicki Seger and husband, John of Mesquite, Nev., Dena Leann Humiston of Parker, Colo., and Jenai Deann Humiston of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; her step-granddaughter, Debra Kay Miller and husband, Jack of Cortez; and her niece, Peggy Hooper of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Lois also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Everett Humiston; sons, Paul and Gary Humiston; daughter-in-law, Ann Humiston; grandson, Kent Hewitt; and adoptive daughter, Sally Honey. Memorial contributions may be made in Lois’ memory to the Valley Inn Nursing Home Activities Fund.
