LOIS FRANCIS GERLACH Funeral services for longtime Yellow Jacket resident, Lois Francis Gerlach will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 12 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1700 E. Empire Street. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery. Lois was born December 20, 1921 in Lewis, Colo., the daughter of Solomon and Effie Francis (Harris) Lybyer. She died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was 83 years old. On November 19, 1938, Lois married Raymond Clare Gerlach in Aztec, N.M. This month they would have celebrated 67 years of being sweethearts. To this union five children were born. Lois and Clare settled on their farm in the 40’s and have lived in that community since that time. She loved her home, her flowers, reading, but most of all, she love her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Clare of Yellow Jacket; daughter, Kay Bayles and husband, Mark and their seven children; daughter, Linda Morton and Floyd Hutchinson and her four children; son, Ray Gerlach and his four children, and son, Denny Gerlach and wife, Kathy and their two children. Lois was the great-grandmother of 53 and the great, great-grandmother of one. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Clare; her parents; and brother, Kenneth; a daughter-in-law, Janet Maley Gerlach; and a great grandson, Cory Bayles. Lois was a very loving and caring person and she will be missed by so many people, both friends and family. Memorial contributions can be made at the Citizens State Bank in her name for the American Heart Association.
