LIZ STANLEY Memorial services for lifelong Cortez resident Liz Stanley will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 12 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Goodman Point Cemetery. Liz was born March 22, 1957 in LaPuente, N.M. the daughter of Jerry and Dee (Gallegos) Cordova. She passed away on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 51. On January 3, 2003, Liz married Tim Stanley in Las Vegas, Nev. She taught children at Por Dia Preschool for 19 years. Liz loved her family dearly, her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. Liz enjoyed traveling, shopping, golf, playing volleyball and attending family barbeques. Surviving Liz are her husband, Tim Stanley of Cortez; her children, Dale McDaniel of Farmington, N.M., and Nicole Loyd and husband, Ryan of Cortez; and her parents, Jerry Cordova and Dee Cordova of Cortez. Liz also leaves behind her step-children, Tori and Bryce Stanley of Cortez; her grandchildren, Rylan Duran and Hailey Loyd, both of Cortez, and Kailey Reidy of Farmington; her siblings, Jerry Cordova and wife, Evelyn of Bloomfield, N.M., and Lee Cordova and wife, Shaun of Grand Junction, Colo.; numerous aunts, uncles, and friends; many extended family members; and her beloved dog, Willie. Memorial contributions may be made in Liz' name to Dolores State Bank.
