The world is a little less bright today as it lost a shining piece of it when our Lisa left this earth to be with her Grandpa Lloyd, Grandma Shirley and Uncles Lloyd and Larry Husted.
Those of us left here to mourn our loss are her beautiful children Aspen (Preston), Carson (Lexi), Mattie, Troy and their father Jeremy Yoder. Her mother Cindy Whitaker (Mickey Giesler) and father David Whitaker (Robyn). Brothers Matthew Whitaker (Kammie) and Jesse Whitaker (Angel). Aunts Linda Smith (Rick), Terri Stevens (Joe) and Dana Husted (Larry). Her special cousins Jason, Larry and Cynthia Moffit. As well as many more Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Lisa always saw the good in others and had the sweetest soul. She was a protector of those she loved, and there were not many she didn’t love. Her greatest passion was rock hounding with her children. She knew all things rocks; their names, shapes, colors and loved researching for her next great adventure. Her creative abilities were astounding. She loved making beautiful necklaces, bags, paintings and drawings.
Lisa graduated from MCHS and Fort Lewis College. She worked at the schools in different capacities. She found such joy in subbing at the middle school with the teenagers the last few years. She would come back after the day with stories of the kids and the neat things they did.
