Lillian C. Gawthrop

LILLIAN C. GAWTHROP Funeral services for longtime Mancos resident Lillian C. Gawthrop will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24 at Ertel Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Rousset officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Lillian was born the daughter of Rapp Wallace and Lillian (Wilson) Crook on August 28, 1919 in Yazoo City, Miss. She passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Four Corners Health Care Center in Durango at the age of 90. Lillian married Claude G. Gawthrop Jr. on December 31, 1943 in Yazoo City, Miss. She was an active member of Mancos United Methodist Church and P.E.O. Lillian enjoyed playing Bridge with the local ladies. Surviving Lillian are her two sons, Rapp Wilson Gawthrop of Aurora, Colo. and Dana Roy Gawthrop and wife, Teralyn of Mancos. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Claude Gawthrop in 1969.
