LESLIE ELIZABETH HIGGINS GREENFIELD Funeral services for area resident, Leslie Elizabeth Higgins Greenfield, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 2 at the Cortez First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Leslie was born the daughter of William D. and Thelma (Decker) Greenfield on April 26, 1941 in Littleton, Colo. She passed away at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, N.M. on Friday, June 26, 2015. Leslie was 74 years old. A rodeo enthusiast, Leslie supported the high school rodeo both as a sponsor and as the club secretary for better than ten years. She was also very active in the Sheriff's Posse-ettes. For many years Leslie was employed as a bookkeeper for Nielsons Inc. She was an active member of the Cortez First United Methodist Church. Leslie's only child, Michelle, knew that her mom was always there for her and she could count on her support. Surviving Leslie are her beloved daughter, Michelle Higgins Porter of Lewis; her granddaughter, Raevyn Porter and Jordan Del Bosque of Stephenville, Tex.; and her newborn great granddaughter, Bryclynn Ann Del Bosque; as well as by the extended Higgins family, and many friends. Leslie was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brother, Don Greenfield. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Leslie Greenfield to the Ute Mountain Rodeo Team, or the Cortez First United Methodist Church.
