LEONA FAYE CRAIG STANLEY Graveside services for longtime area resident Leona Faye Craig Stanley will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 at Cahone Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Wednesday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Leona was born the daughter of Charles Edward Craig Jr. and Sarah Alta (Highley) Craig on March 9, 1917 in Wilson, Tex. She passed away at Valley Inn Nursing Home on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the age of 95. Leona married Tant Billingsley "Ted" Stanley on December 22, 1941 in Bluff Dale, Tex. Leona and Ted shared 53 years of marriage before his death in 1995. Leona was a lifelong Baptist and at the age of 94 she became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving Leona are her children, Rose Diane Stanley Cook of Farmington, N.M. and Duane Mac Stanley of Dove Creek, Colo.; by five grandchildren, Dana Cook of Alexandria, Va., Craig Cook of Farmington, N.M., Blythe Delgado of Alexandria, Va., Jay Stanley of Johnstown, Colo. and Mark Stanley of Baltimore, Md.; by five great grandchildren; and by two nephews, Craig Erlandson and Ricky Erlandson both of Whitesboro, Tex. Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted Stanley; a son, Dana Ted Stanley; and her only sister, Guinda Erlandson.
