LEON BRYAN 'HOOT' WALKER JR. Services for Dolores resident, Leon Bryan 'Hoot' Walker, Jr. will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2005 at the family residence located at 24601 County Road U. Hoot was born on June 9, 1925 in Gulf Port, Miss., the son of Leon Bryan Walker, Sr. and Gertrude Violet (Cook) Walker. He passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Madison House at the age of 80. Hoot taught anatomy at the University of Houston and for 30 years at Tulane University. He also taught anatomy abroad in Antigua, and Lagos, Nigeria. He enjoyed volunteering at the Anasazi Heritage Center and the Galloping Goose Railroad Association. He had a deep love for archaeology. Hoot was a veteran of the United States Navy as well. Surviving Hoot are his daughter, Mary Lynn Lively and husband, Dwain of Dolores; and granddaughter, Violet Elizabeth Lively. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Nelda Lucille Walker.
