LEO LAVERL LEWIS 

 A funeral service will be held for Leo LaVerl Lewis on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Ertel Memorial Chapel on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. 

 Leo was born on March 10, 1931 in Agra, Oklahoma to Clarence Allen Eugene and Minnie Pearl(Rodgers) Lewis. He passed away at the Cottonwood Rehabilitation Center in Durango, Colorado on July 6, 2024 at the age of 93.  

 Leo is survived by his children, Dana Litchlyter of Fruita, CO, Lorri Lewis of Cortez, CO, Lana Lewis Sulkey (John) of Cedaredge, CO, and Loren Lewis of Cortez, CO; along with 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; his son-in-law, Rick Baer of Grand Junction, CO; his companion for the last 5 years, Barbara Glazner and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.  

 Leo is proceeded in death by his parents, Clarence and Pearl Lewis; his wife, Bobbie Lewis; his children, Connie Baer and Mike Nielson; and his siblings, Orville, Dale, Eldred, Prentice, Emma, Opal, Minnie, Milda, Dick, Clem, Verda, Darl, Clyde, and Frank. 

 Memorial contributions can be made in Leo’s name to St. Judes Memorial Hospital or the Denver Children’s Hospital.
