Leland Charley

LELAND CHARLEY Funeral services for Cortez resident Leland Charley will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Leland was born on September 26, 1977 in Gallup, N.M. the son of Frankie and Freida (Eddie) Charley. He passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 in Montezuma Creek, Utah at the age of 31. Leland was a caring and giving person that had a wonderful sense of humor. Leland loved to play with children. In his free time, Leland enjoyed playing basketball, participating in softball tournaments, and attending rodeos. Leland also liked playing in pool tournaments and video games. Leland is survived by his parents, Frankie and Frieda Charley of Montezuma Creek, Utah; and by his children, Tracey Leigh Charley of Albuquerque, N.M., LeeLandra Leigh Charley of Albuquerque, N.M., Eulyssa Verissa Charley of Grants, N.M., Leland Charley Jr. of Grants, N.M., and Jordan Charley of Grants, N.M. He also leaves behind his siblings, Lisa Marie Charley of Cortez, Nicky Dakai Charley and husband, Shawn Enrico of Aztec, N.M., Verissa Charley and husband, Perrison Juan of Grants, N.M., Marvin Charley and wife, Lorinda Clark of Horse Canyon, Utah, and Krystin Leigh Charley and husband, Brent Farley of Cortez. Leland was preceded in death by his daughter, Tawnya Leigh Charley.
