LAWRENCE LARS COLLINS Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Lawrence Lars Collins will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11 at the Towaoc Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Towaoc Cemetery. Boyd Lopez and Terry Knight will officiate. A Wake will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday evening at Lawrence's residence. Lawrence was born June 23, 1973 in Cortez the son of Larry Collins Sr. and Shirley Eyetoo. He passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at his home at the age of 37. Lawrence loved the beauty of the outdoors, he especially enjoyed running on the Ute Mountain. Lawrence was always available to help his friends and family. A wonderful artist, Lawrence loved to draw pictures for his friends. He liked to greet the sun in the morning and see it set at night. Lawrence would go around Towaoc and help check on homes to make sure that everything was ok. He had a deep love of animals and Lawrence knew the names of all the local dogs. He had a lot of fun playing with his grandsons and Lawrence treasured walking with his son Emillio. Surviving Lawrence are his mother, Shirley Eyetoo of Towaoc; his son, Emillio Lars Collins of Towaoc; and his siblings, Julia Mirabal and husband, Vinciti of Ignacio, Aaron Eyetoo and wife, Judy of Towaoc, Leona Collins of Towaoc, and Lionel Collins of Towaoc. Lawrence also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grandsons, and a large extended family in Towaoc. He was preceded in death by his father; by his son, Tevin Lars Collins; and by his siblings, Larry Collins Jr. and Tina Marie Eyetoo.
