LAVONA P. LUCE Interment services for Lavona P. Luce, former area resident, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2006 in Sunnyside Cemetery in Lewis, Colorado. Lavona P. Luce, 93, and a resident of Copalis Crossing, Wash. died on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at her home. She was born on October 31, 1912 in Agra, Oklahoma to Alva and Alice Roseanna (Williams) Toles. She moved to the Four Corners Area in Colorado at the age 17. She was married to Herbert W. Luce on May 7, 1932 in Aztec, New Mexico and he died on June 18, 1983. She lived in Lewis, Colo. and then moved to the Carlisle, Wash., on Grays Harbor in 1938. She moved to Oregon for 2 years and then back to Carlisle where she has resided since. She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking and taking care of her family. She had attended the Copalis Crossing Assembly of God. She is survived by her daughter, Juanita Johnson of Hoquiam, Wash.; sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Jackie Luce of Humptulips, Wash., Leroy and Connie Luce of Aberdeen, Wash.; sister, Jessie Ayers of Cahone, Colo.; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and June Toles of Roseburg, Ore.; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Luce; brothers, Marion and Claudie Toles; sister, Ruby Medley; and grandsons, Samuel McVeigh and Dennis Newlun, Jr. Funeral services are being held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Coleman Chapel in Hoquiam, Wash.
