Lavaughn Aaron Dennsion

LaVAUGHN AARON DENNISON Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident LaVaughn Aaron Dennison will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Anthony Maez of the Church of The Nazarene will officiate. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75 will conduct Military Honors. LaVaughn was born April 5, 1929 in Cortez to Emma and James Dennison. He passed away from this life on June 10, 2006 at Vista Grande Rehabilitation Center at the age of 77. LaVaughn was a life member of Mesa Verde VFW Post 5241, American Legion Post 75, Disabled American Veterans and was an avid CB radio operator. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling and playing cards. Surviving LaVaughn are his wife of 53 years, Merylin; his two sons, Berry and Allan Dennison of Cortez; his brothers, Darrell Dennison of Cortez, Lonnie Dennison of Cortez; his sister, Immogene Spruell of Cortez and numerous extended family members. LaVaughn had many, many friends and was very well loved. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Lois Sparks. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of LaVaughn Dennison with any organization meeting the needs of retired veterans.
