LAURA ALLYNE BROWNING Funeral services for Laura Allyne Browning will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 10 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for 12 p.m. on Thursday at Ertel Chapel. Mrs. Laura Allyne (Stobaugh) Browning passed away October 4, 2013 in Tucson, Ariz. She was born May 14, 1924 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Stobaugh in Shiedler, Okla. She attended schools in Oklahoma and graduated from Chillicothe Business College. She worked as a dispatcher for a Big Inch Pipeline company. Laura met J. A. Browning in 1944 and fell in love. They were united in marriage on September 15, 1944. This marriage lasted 69 years until her passing. Laura traveled with Arkie to many trap shoots and worked as a cashier in Utah, Arizona, Nebraska and surrounding areas. During this time she enjoyed meeting and helping all the shooters. Laura also enjoyed organizing many dinners at the winter chain shoots. She was a member of Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Laura was preceded in death by her parents; William and Ethel; one son, James Arklus Browning; two brothers, Billy and Elqin Stobaugh. Survivors include her husband, J. "Arkie" Browning; and a host of friends.
