Mr. Larry Paul Fury, son of the late Paul and Mary Elizabeth Fury was born February 20, 1940 in Cortez, Colorado. He was raised in Dove Creek, Colorado where he graduated from Dove Creek High School in 1958. He attended Mesa College on a football scholarship and then graduated Colorado State University 1962. Larry served his country in the United States Army and later worked at Conoco until his retirement. He was united in Holy matrimony for 51 years to Ursula Elisabeth (Balch) Fury. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, horseman, golfer, pilot and loved to hunt, fish and the mountains. He retired to Dolores, Colorado where he was a dedicated member at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Cortez. He peacefully departed this life in his sleep on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. His life will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Larry is survived by his loving wife Ursula and their children Paul Kevin Fury and his wife Kimberly, Christina Renee (Fury) Rossmeisl and her husband Markus; eleven grandchildren: Jocelyn, Ksenia, Samantha, Anya, Chase, Stephan, Isaac, Georgia, David Ratan, Benjamin, and Danielle; one great-grandchild: Bronson Paul. He is also survived by his siblings: Shirley (Fury) Hasty, Jim Fury, Linda (Fury) Kurtz and husband Ron, David Fury and wife Penny; and a host of devoted cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 28th, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Lighthouse Baptist Church 11502 Hwy 145, Cortez, Colorado. In lieu of flowers those who so desire may make donations in memory of Larry to The Lighthouse Christian Academy (11502 Hwy 145, Cortez, Colorado) or veteran's organization The Fisher House www.fisherhouse.org.
