Larraine Kathleen VanDorn

  Graveside services will be held on Thursday Feb 29, 2024 at 11:00 at Cortez Cemetery.

   Larraine, daughter of Gordon and Cleo Shaben, was born November 24, 1946 in Seneca Falls, NY. She passed away Wednesday Feb 21, 2024 in Durango, Colorado at age of 77. Larraine was the oldest of nine children. Being tired of the snow her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she had a short term marriage and was blessed with one son, Anthony “Tony” James Shaben.

   Most of her work was done in the clerical field. Eventually, Larraine moved to Cortez, CO where she met Larry Stroud who was the love of her life for 29 years. Granny's hobbies were making crafts and greeting cards for everyone.

   Larraine is survived by her spouse, Larry Stroud; her son, Anthony; her stepsons, Jay Stroud (Hope) and Rick Stroud (Cindy); her sisters, Arlene (Wayne) Hurst, JoAnn Shaben, Gail Reed, Norma Sheldon, Charlene Johnson, Debbie Shaben; her brother, Bill (Tanya) Shaben; her multiple nieces and nephews; her grandkids, Kaitlin, Jasmine, Keegan, Walker, Hannah; and her great-grandkids, Malcom and Leo. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Benjamin.
